Paddleboard Alabama is proud to support the Coosa River Keepers in their mission of keeping watch over our waters.

We've been exploring hidden gems just off the beaten path, all within an hour's drive (or so) of downtown Birmingham. Each location boasts its own unique charm, offering excellent paddling conditions and safe, welcoming environments for learning as well as peaceful coves to inspire your SUP YOGA practice while surrounded by lush, untouched nature.

The routes vary and each has shorter or longer options depending on the group.

Ten Islands Historic Park is probably our most favorite location. It is the least developed, has amazing protected paddling, natural coves several distance choices and great wildlife. This is roughly a 3 mile paddle in protected waters with options to extend to 5-10 miles depending on the group.

Logan Martin Lake Park is located south of Pell City and has provides great access to this area of the river. Nice beach landings, easy parking, and pavilions. This is a great shorter paddle with wonderful SUP YOGA options and, of course, can be made longer depending on the group There is a paddle to lunch and back option to a fantastic lakeside restaurant.

Broken Arrow Shoals. What a facility and what a paddle! Great wildlife, cool circumnavigation of Broken Arrow Shoals. We launch from Lincoln Landing, about 40 minutes from downtown Bham!

Inland Lake in Blount County is another great spot with no development and great wildlife and only about 45 minutes from downtown Bham
